Settle in. Keep your eyes on your card.

Bingo is wonderfully straightforward: your caller announces numbers, you mark the matches on your card, and you try to complete the pattern for that game.

It’s a social game that doesn’t ask you to study a subject or be quick with trivia answers. The anticipation builds as the spaces fill in, whether you’re a regular player or picking up a dauber for the first time.

How to play

Get ready to play

Collect your paper card and marking supplies. Listen for the game’s instructions and make sure you know which pattern you’re trying to complete.

Follow the calls

Mark a number when it is called and appears on your card. Keep track of the announced pattern as the game continues.

Make yourself heard

When you complete the pattern, call bingo and get the caller’s attention. Your card is checked before a win is confirmed.

The pattern is the thing.

A line and a full card are different goals, so don’t assume every round works the same way. Follow the pattern your caller announces at the start of each game.

If you need a rule explained or want to check which game is being played, ask. The caller is there to keep the room together and help everyone follow along.

A few good questions.

Is Bingo played as a trivia team?

Bingo centers on the numbers and patterns on your card. You can come with friends and enjoy the night together without needing to agree on trivia answers.

Do I need experience?

No. The basic idea is easy to pick up, and the caller explains the instructions for the game.

What do I do when I think I’ve won?

Call bingo promptly and get the caller’s attention. Keep your card available so the winning pattern can be checked.

Are all games and prizes the same?

The caller and venue set the details for that event. Listen for the announced patterns, prize information, and any special instructions.
